Lens Perspective

December 15, 2006

When taking wide-angle photographs, it is important to pay careful attention to Lens Perspective.  Many photographers have a tendency to make pictures with the camera mounted at “eye-level”.  Making photos from this level with a(n) ultra-wide lens results in vertical lines (corners, windows and door frames) being skewed.

When using a wide-angle lens, we recommend lowering the camera to somewhere between chest and waist level.  It is our experience that this level results in less tilted wall corners, etc.
